A crypto deposit moves assets from an external wallet or platform into your CAEX account. Unlike a bank transfer, a blockchain transaction cannot be cancelled or reversed. This guide is written so you get it right the first time.
Three things to know before you deposit
- Blockchain transactions cannot be undone. Sending to the wrong place means the assets are gone.
- Three details must match exactly: the asset, the network, and the wallet address.
- On your first deposit, send a small test amount before sending the rest.
Before you start
- Your CAEX account has completed identity verification
- Google 2FA or a Passkey is enabled
- You hold the assets in a personal wallet or an account on another platform
- The source wallet has a small balance available to cover the network fee
Depositing on the website
Step 1: Open the deposit page
Sign in to your CAEX account. Go to Asset Overview, select Funding Account, then click Deposit.
Step 2: Select the asset
Under Select Asset, choose the asset you will be sending. Select the asset you actually hold in the source wallet, not the one you eventually want to hold.
Step 3: Select the network
Under Select Network, choose the network that matches the one you will send from.
If you are not certain which network your source wallet is using, check the source wallet first and come back. Do not guess.
Step 4: Get the deposit address
The system generates a wallet address and QR code for the asset and network you selected.
The screen also shows the minimum deposit amount and the number of confirmations required. Read both carefully.
Click the copy button to copy the address.
Step 5: Transfer from your source wallet
Open the source wallet or platform and paste the address you copied. Before confirming, check three things:
The asset matches the asset selected on CAEX
The network matches the network selected on CAEX
The amount meets the minimum shown on the deposit screen
Step 6: Track the status
After sending, the transaction needs time to be confirmed by the network. Track it under Recent Deposit Records, or click View More for the full list.
The Deposit Status column shows blockchain confirmation progress. The Status column shows the final processing result.
Depositing in the app
Step 1: Open the deposit screen
Tap Asset on the bottom navigation bar, select the Funding tab, then tap Deposit.
Step 2: Select the asset and network
Choose the asset you are depositing, then select the matching network. The principle is the same as on the website.
Step 3: Copy the address or save the QR code
Tap Copy Address to copy the address. If you will scan it from another device, tap Save QR Code to save the image to your phone.
The information icon in the corner opens the asset-specific notes. Read these on your first deposit.
Step 4: Transfer and track
Send from your source wallet, then open the transaction history to track it. Tap a transaction to see full details, including the option to view it on a blockchain explorer.
