Spot trading lets you buy and sell crypto assets using a price chart and an order book. This guide covers the two basic order types, Market and Limit, how to set take profit and stop loss (TP/SL), and how to manage your open orders.
Before you start
- Your account is verified and has a balance in the Trading Account
- You understand how to read a trading pair, for example ETH/VND
App version
This guide covers the website version. The app version of Spot trading is being updated.
Market versus Limit
| Order type | How it works | Best when |
|---|---|---|
| Market | Buys or sells immediately at the best available price | You want to fill right away |
| Limit | Only fills when the price reaches the level you set | You want to set a target price and wait |
Select a trading pair by typing a keyword into the search bar, for example ETH or VND, or by choosing from the pair list.
Part 1: Market orders
A Market order fills almost immediately at the market price.
Step 1: Select the pair and the Market tab
On the Spot page, select the trading pair, then tap the Market tab in the order area.
Step 2: Enter the order details
• When buying: Enter the VND amount to spend in the Amount field.
• When selling: Enter the asset quantity to sell in the Quantity field.
You can use the 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% slider to set the amount quickly based on your balance.
Step 3: Confirm the order
Tap Buy or Sell, check the confirmation popup, then tap Confirm. The order fills immediately and the asset is recorded.
Part 2: Limit orders
A Limit order lets you set a target price, filling only when the market price reaches that level.
Step 1: Select the Limit tab
After selecting the pair, tap the Limit tab in the order area.
Step 2: Enter the price and quantity
• Price: The buy or sell price you want.
• Quantity: The amount of the asset to buy or sell.
Or use the percentage slider to calculate quickly from your balance.
Step 3: Confirm the order
Tap Buy or Sell, check the popup, then Confirm. The order goes to the order book and fills when the price reaches your level.
A Limit order may not fill immediately
If the market price has not reached your level, the order waits in the order book. You can view, edit, or cancel it in order management.
Part 3: Setting take profit and stop loss (TP/SL)
When placing an order, you can add two automatic exit prices:
Take Profit: Automatically sells when the price rises to your set level, to lock in profit.
Stop Loss: Automatically sells when the price falls to your set level, to limit losses.
Step 1: Open the TP/SL section
In the order area, enable the TP/SL option. Enter the TP Trigger Price and the SL Trigger Price.
Step 2: Confirm with the order
After entering TP/SL, confirm the order as usual. These levels activate automatically when the price is reached.
Part 4: Managing your open orders
After placing a Limit order that has not filled, you track and adjust it in order management.
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| View open orders | The list of unfilled orders sitting in the order book |
| Edit order | Change the price or quantity of an unfilled order |
| Edit TP/SL | Adjust the take profit and stop loss levels |
| Cancel order | Cancel an unfilled order to return the balance |
Step 1: Open order management
Scroll to the area below the chart to see your open orders and order history.
Step 2: Edit or cancel an order
Tap Edit order to change the price or quantity, Edit TP/SL to adjust the exit levels, or Cancel to cancel an unfilled order.
