Maker and taker fees are determined by how your order is filled, not by the order type you place:
- Maker: your order doesn't fill immediately and instead rests on the order book, adding liquidity. When another order later matches it, you're charged the maker fee.
- Taker: your order fills immediately against an existing order on the book, removing liquidity. You're charged the taker fee.
